Welcome to The Red Room, “A Higher Degree of Dining,” where guests are treated to mouth-watering cuisine and great hospitality in a cozy and elegant dining room serviced by Collin College Institute of Hospitality and Culinary Education (IHCE) students.

 

As a working educational lab, The Red Room is unique for many reasons. Most notably, aside from the restaurant opening its doors to the public, The Red Room is serviced by Collin College’s RSTO1304- Dining Room Service and CHEF1314- A La Carte Cooking classes.

 

Each week will feature a menu created and implemented by a student Executive Chef from CHEF1314 and a Maitre d from RSTO1304 courses. 

New for Spring 2024, each service features dessert & bread offerings from the student Pastry Chefs enrolled in PSTR1342-Bakery Operations Mgmt. or PSTR2331-Advanced Pastry

 

This combination allows Collin College students in the Dining Room Service class to support the front-of-the-house restaurant management experience while the A La Carte Cooking students prepare, cook and expedite food in the "back-of-house".

 

Meanwhile, students in both classes learn the importance of communication and coordination between the dining room ("front-of-house") and kitchen ("back-of-house").  The students also practice marketing the restaurant and delivering the level exceptional service necessary as leaders in hospitality.

 

The Red Room serves as a "live" learning environment, capstone class, for A.A.S. degree Culinary Arts & Pastry Arts students.  Please remember to provide feedback on the guest feedback card or link provided during your meal...Bon Appetit!

 

Please note that all reservations are for a one hour dining experience.  

 

When accessing our reservations link, please do not reserve more than 3 dates during the semester as Red Room reservations are in high demand.  It is imperative to provide dining opportunities to as many different guests as possible.  This ensures a variety of constructive feedback to the students and college.  If you have more than three reservations, we may contact you to cancel the overbookings. 

 

Lunch is $15 (+tax) for a 3-course meal including beverage.  We accept cash or CC for payment at the end of the meal. 

Donations to support IHCE student scholarships and activities are welcome.  Please ask your server or maitre d for donation opportunities.

 

Location Information: The Preston Ridge, Collin College campus is located at 9700 Wade Blvd, Frisco, 75035.  (It sits between Preston Road and Hillcrest off of Wade)  When you enter the campus, look for signs directing you to Alumni Hall.  We are located inside Alumni Hall, within the Culinary Arts department.  From the parking lot, facing the building, you'll enter the glass doors to the right. Once you enter the glass doors, you will go directly to the right (through closed wooden doors) and then to the left down a hallway toward classroom A150.  The Red Room is located in classroom A150.
