AAS General Education Courses

General Education courses provide you with foundational skills that every employer is looking for in an employee.

The AAS degree requires 15 credit hours of general education coursework distributed as follows:

  • At least three semester credit hours from humanities / fine arts;
  • At least three semester credit hours from social / behavioral sciences;
  • At least three semester credit hours from natural sciences / mathematics;
  • The remaining hours will be specified in your degree plan.

Faculty select the general education courses in each workforce degree to complement the technical courses in the area of study.  Some AAS degree plans allow students to choose from a selection of specified courses to meet their general educations requirements.

See the specific degree plan for general education requirements.  If options are listed in the degree plan, refer to the table of AAS General Education Course Options to view the available course choices.
