GERS 1160 Clinical - Gerontology
A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply
specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided
by the clinical professional. 1 credit hour. (W)
GERS 1301 Introduction to Gerontology
Overview of the social, psychological, and biological changes that accompany aging.
Focuses on the implications of these changes for the individual, as well as for the
larger society. Lab required. 3 credit hours. (W)
GERS 1304 Activity Directing I
The role of the director in providing activity services. Includes study of history,
regulations, communications, advocacy, ethics, service delivery, and volunteer management.
Lab required. 3 credit hours. (W)
GERS 1307 Activity Directing II
The role of the director in providing activity services. Includes assessment, care
planning, documentation process, and evaluation of client needs. Also addresses program
design and resources/funding. Lab required. Prerequisite: GERS 1304. 3 credit hours.
