Jeff Allen, Head Women's Basketball Coach

The Collin Cougars have won three straight conference championships with a three year conference record of 37-5.  The last five seasons the Lady Cougars have an impressive overall record of 119-36 and a conference record of 59-11.

A native of Le Grand, Iowa Coach Allen played two years for Mike Marquis at Marshalltown Community College then earned a basketball scholarship to play for Rudy Washington at Drake University.  During his senior year he was the Bulldogs leading scorer.  Observing Drake’s 100th year of intercollegiate basketball Allen was voted to the All-Decade Team for the 90’s.

Coach Allen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Drake University in 1995 and completed a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology at Texas A&M Commerce in 2003.  He is a full-time faculty member in the Physical Education department at Collin.  Jeff and his wife Kim have two sons, Zachary and Luke, and live in Allen.

 Larry Carter, Women's Asst. Basketball Coach

Coach Carter returns for a fourth year to Collin County having previously served under Coach Allen as a Student Assistant during the 2003-2004 Season, where he assisted Coach Allen in leading the cougars to a record of 14-14 and 8-6 in conference play.  Prior to returning to Collin Coach Carter was the head Student Assistant for head coach Johnny Jones at the University of North Texas that included the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Championship.  A graduate of North Texas Coach Carter will assist with day-to-day operations as well as, on-the-court instruction, recruiting and film exchange.  Coach Carter, and his wife Jeremy, live in Frisco with their daughter Grayson and dog Duke.
