Sugar & Spice Mentor Program
The purpose of the Sugar & Spice Mentor Program is to establish mentoring relationships between college women at Collin College and girls in grades 3 - 12 to provide group-based mentoring activities focused on healthy lifestyle choices, body image, self-esteem and building self-efficacy skills, to help enhance the lives of at-risk girls.


Membership is open to any enrolled Collin student who:

  1. Is enrolled for six (6) credit hours each fall and spring semester and maintains a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
  2. Is able to work in groups and volunteer (including mentor trainings and preparation, field trips, travel time and mentoring workshops), from September through May.
  3. Is willing to teach the S&S curriculum, which centers on physical activity, healthy eating instruction, esteem-building exercises, interactive activities (such as an obstacle course and treasure hunts), and journal writing.
