Homeland Security & Collin College

In response to the federal government's elevated Homeland Security threat level to Condition Yellow (Elevated), the District has instituted a number of heightened security measures. Included in these measures are increased campus parking lot patrols that will focus on illegally parked vehicles. Please do not park in any driveways or loading area's near the building or in any campus Fire Lanes. Vehicles found in these areas WILL BE TOWED at the owners expense.

While Collin College has not received or been alerted to any specific threats, we want to assure the community that we remain vigilant in maintaining the highest security measures possible at this time of heightened national alert. Students, faculty and staff should go about their normal business but should report any suspicious activity immediately to the Police Department.

The District is working with local City and Collin County Homeland Security officials to develop a comprehensive crisis plan that will be distributed throughout the District upon it's completion.

In the event of an actual emergency, the campus community will be notified through a variety of mechanisms including e-mail and voice mail.

Student's, staff and faculty are reminded to be aware of suspicious behavior and circumstances such as unauthorized individuals in restricted areas, abandoned parcels, bags, vehicles, or other items. Anyone wishing to report suspicious activity should contact Collin College Police Department at 972-578-5555 (5555 from campus phone).
