Course Description | 2-D Design I
The study of two-dimensional design as used in picture
making, space planning, quilt, rug or fabric design and any other planning
using flat surfaces. The Principles and Elements of Design will be covered
and applied to assignments assigned by instructor. Each week a new aspect of
the design process will be executed.
1. Develop an understanding of the principles and elements of design.
2. Assess work with goal of improving over all design.
3. Enable the artist to organize, develop, and critique final works of art.
4. Engage the viewer and hold their attention to the subject matter of emotional impact of the work.

A continuation of 2-D Design I. Assignments will be reviewed and critiqued.

An advanced class for students who have completed both 2-D
Design I and II. Focus will be on principles and elements of design as well
as colory theory. Projects a combination of student and instructors ideas
learning more comprehensive abilities with focus on commercial design
