Course Description
Abstract | Contemporary Painting I - Explore a wide variety of painting techniques and mediums to create artwork that is not always representational. Three main areas that will be the foundation of this course will be: abstraction as a distortion of nature, abstraction that only involves elements of design and color to evoke a mood of personal statement, and how to make an abstract painting from something realistic.

Small to large canvases and panels will be used with any painting supplies, media photos and drawings the student may already have. The instructor will use many demonstrations and illustrations to assist the very beginner to the advanced student.

Abstract | Contemporary Painting II - Continue to explore painting techniques, mediums and other art products. The foundation of this course will still be based on the three main areas that were presented in the abstract I class.
