Course Description
This course introduces students to the Health Information profession with specific emphasis in Medical Coding utilizing CPT and ICD-10 coding manuals. Students will learn fundamental skills while developing an understanding of the importance of each role within various healthcare settings.
Is this class for you?
This 48-hour course will instruct the student on interpreting health record content, describing health information management department function and purpose, differentiating the various types of helathcare facilities and their records, identifying the various licensing and regulatory agencies in the healthcare industry, and demonstrating basic skills in coding and billing.
