Course Description
SQL Fundamentals - This class is applicable to Oracle Database users. It introduces Oracle Database technology and provides learners with the essential SQL skills of querying the database, the meta data and creating database objects. In addition, the course also delves into the advanced querying and reporting techniques, data warehousing concepts and manipulating large data sets in different time zones.

Admin Workshop - Students will gain a conceptual understanding of the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another. Students will also learn how to create an operational database and properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner including performance monitoring, database security, user management, and backup/recovery techniques. This course is designed to prepare you for the corresponding Oracle Certified Associate exam.

Backup and Recovery Workshop- Learn how to configure an Oracle database for multilingual applications. Practice various methods of recovering the database, using RMAN, SQL, and Flashback technology. Tools to monitor database performance and what steps to take to improve database performance are also covered in this course. Various database technologies, such as Resource Manager, the Scheduler, and Automatic Storage Management (ASM) will also be discussed. This course is designed to prepare you for the corresponding Oracle Certified Professional exam.
What you will learn ...
Intro to SQL - Search data using advanced sub queries. Retrieve row and column data from tables with the SELECT statement. Employ SQL functions to generate and retrieve customized data. Run data manipulation statements (DML) to update data in the Oracle Database. Control user access and manage schema objects.

Admin Workshop I - Install and configure the Oracle Database. Create and administer user accounts in the Oracle Database. Backup and Recovery of the Oracle Database
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the Oracle Database. Configure Oracle Net services for the Oracle Database.

Admin Workshop II - Use RMAN to create and manage backup sets and image copies. Recover the database to a previous point in time. Use Oracle's Flashback technology to recover your database. Detect block corruptions and take appropriate measures to correct them. Use the various Database advisors and views to monitor and improve database performance. Control database resource usage with the Resource Manager. Simplify management tasks by using the Scheduler. Improve the security of the listener. Review database log files for diagnostic.
