Course Description
Join author Amber Jerome-Norrgard and learn how to write that romance/ suspense novel you have tucked away in your mind. This lecture class will cover the basics of writing, characters, plot, pacing, setting, and discovering your own unique style of writing.
Instrutor Bio
Amber Jerome~Norrgard was first published in her hometown's paper at the age of seventeen.Since then, she's used writing as a free form of therapy to celebrate the best parts of her life and to work through the rough experiences. Amber is co-creator and co-host of �Tweep Nation with Amber and Dionne,� a weekly podcast loosely related to Twitter and Independent Authors, co-host and co-creator of �The Lyrical Versification Podcast,� a weekly podcast about poetry in all its forms. Amber is the president of 629 Publications, and currently lives in Dallas, Texas with her family.
Course Objectives
  1. Understand personal writing methods
  2. Learn to create believable characters with goals and conflicts
  3. Learn different ways of creating a story: character driven, plot driven or theme driven
  4. Distinguish the hero's journey mothod of plotting
  5. Learn page setup, cover letter, etc.
  6. Insight into how publishing houses work
  7. Create and layout own work
