I try to instill in my students that if they try and persevere they can acquire new and valuable skills. I try to help them in overcoming the intimidation of new technologies.

In the classroom, Puranik sows more than 15 years of experience and knowledge.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bhopal in India. She moved to Washington and became an engineer at LSI Logical Storage Systems Inc. while completing her Project Management certification from the University of Washington. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Puranik’s specialties lie in teaching computer fundamentals and Microsoft Office applications in addition to testing applications and servers.
She holds certifications in XML Standards and Technologies, Windows NT Administration and C programming from the University of Washington and is proficient in UNIX, Visual Basic, XML, HTML and more.
“As a quality assurance (QA) engineer, I was required to research, learn, operate and test various applications” Puranik said. “Often I was the first employee in my company to have installed a new product. With this background, I try to instill in my students that if they try and persevere they can acquire new and valuable skills. I try to help them in overcoming the intimidation of new technologies.”
In technology, the key is to stay on top of the ever-evolving world in which Puranik and her students work and thrive in. She feels her experience in this regard can help others.
“I started my teaching career as an instructor teaching the Windows 95. I have seen the technology change from being overly complicated to becoming more and more user friendly, she said. “As a software QA engineer, I have worked on several different operating systems and software applications. My responsibility was certifying third-party applications with our company’s product. Certification of a product from a different company would allow us to forge a partnership and profit together. I also helped in managing the development and testing projects. With me, I bring 15 years of experience.”
