Economic Development

The Center for Workforce & Economic Development (CWED) proactively seeks out local, state, and federal grant funds that assist in the workforce and economic development of our region. Through collaboration with these grant funding sources, CWED provides customized training to businesses that ensures the local economy remains competitive and employees possess the upgraded skills that every industry requires.

Grants can help businesses:

  • Implement innovative processes
  • Hire and train more employees
  • Research and develop new products
  • Ramp up production

CWED acts as the grant applicant, fiscal agent and training coordinator.

Collin College has received ten Texas Skills Development Fund grants totaling over $8 million in the past fourteen years.
