Initial F-1 Visa Applicants (Outside the U.S.)

Step 1: Complete the Collin College International Application for Admission

Step 2: Official TOEFL (institution code: 6805) or IELTS scores must be submitted with the following minimum scores:

              TOEFL--525 for the paper based test or 71 for internet based test
              IELTS--6.5 or higher

Step 3: Complete the Financial Information WorksheetAND provide supporting documentation for at least one of the following:

      Original bank statement showing balance equal or
      greater than $24,000.

  Parents, relatives or friends (if outside
  U.S.)

  • Letter of guarantee from sponsor AND
 
Original bank statement showing balance equal or

  • I-134 form (I-134 instructions) AND
 
Original bank statement showing balance equal or
    greater than $24,000.

  Your Government

  • Official letter confirming type and amount of financial
    aid.

Step 4: Submit transcripts from foreign high school or college; unofficial transcripts acceptable. 

Step 5: A copy of the front page of your passport showing your name, country of origin, and the expiration date of the passport.

Step 6: Mail all required documents found in steps 2 through 5 to:
             International Student Office
             Collin College - SCC
             2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway
             Plano, TX 75074


Step 7: Before you make an appointment at the American Consulate for your F-1 VISA click on the SEVIS I-901 fee payment link and print the receipt.


Upon arrival to the U.S., please report to the International Students Office with the original documents of:


                    > Current I-20
                    > I-94 card
                    > Visa
                   
> Original financial documents (as indicated from Financial Information Worksheet)
