"The Sky's the Limit" Conference

Plano, TX -- Collin College Foundation, Inc. presents its fourth annual "The Sky's the Limit" conference, a day for corporate and community women, Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano. Hosted with Cooperative Work Experience and the Student Development Division and underwritten by Medical Center of Plano, this all-day event brings a mix of expertise, humor, and vital leadership skills to help women reaffirm their "quality life." The conference begins at 8:00 a.m. with check-in and dismisses at 4:30 p.m.

Workshops will be lead by nationally known speakers including conference headliner Hattie Hill, author of "Smart Women, Smart Choices." Ms. Hill will describe how to break the cycle of carrying other's responsibilities and build healthier, more balanced lives. Maryanne Watson, Ph.D. will teach the use of effective techniques to cope with life stresses and how to overcome obstacles that prevent living a full, healthy life. Cindy Brinker, daughter of a famous tennis great and author of "Lessons I Learned From Mom," uses her childhood to share the seven major principles her mother taught her. Humorist Anne Barab takes a lighter view of the world through her book "I had a Life, but the Magnet Fell Off the Fridge." Ms. Barab takes a look at where she has been in order to make sense of where life is taking her. Rose-Mary Rumbley, Ph.D., presenting "Hang Around Long Enough and You Know Everything," admits that as we grow older, we learn that our mothers were right after all.
