Governor Rick Perry To Speak At CCCCD

OCT. 29, 2001--Governor Rick Perry will be the featured speaker at the McKinney Legislative Series at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Collin County Community College District's Central Park Campus, 2200 W. University (Hwy. 380), in McKinney. This event will be sponsored by the Tate Planning Group and will mark the fifth event in this series of ongoing lectures.

The governor's visit, and the legislative series in general, is being co-hosted by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, the city of McKinney, the McKinney Independent School District and the Collin County Community College District. Civic leaders and interested citizens are welcome to attend this lecture and to engage in constructive discussions on issues impacting the city of McKinney and the state of Texas. For obvious security reasons, and due to the venue's limited seating capacity, a set number of free tickets will be available from each of the hosting entities listed above. Those interested in obtaining tickets may contact those organizations or the numbers provided below.

"Knowing what is happening in Austin is essential to the continued prosperity of our community and our college," said Carey Cox, president of a McKinney real estate company and CCCCD board of trustees founding member. "Our college is committed to providing our students with the highest quality education, while still keeping tuition affordable. We are especially pleased to welcome Governor Perry who, throughout his years of public service, has shown a commitment to raising the standards of Texas higher education."
