CCCCD To Host Health Professions Day At Spring Creek Campus

NOV. 2, 2001 - Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) will host Health Professions Day, an all-day conference designed to provide information on many health care careers. The event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the CCCCD Spring Creek Campus in Plano, targets college students, junior- and senior-level high school students enrolled in medical science programs and community members interested in learning more about health care professions.

Medical professionals from CCCCD and Texas universities will participate in panel discussions on topics including pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-veterinary and nursing programs as well as medical technology, physical therapy, physician assistant and other allied health programs. Speakers and panelists also will be available to answer questions.

"We hope that Health Professions Day will give students and community members an opportunity to learn about the variety of health care career choices," said Lynne Meyer, academic advisor at CCCCD. "This is also our way of celebrating National Allied Health Month and National Career Development Month."
