CCCCD Students Raise Money For Children's Advocacy Center

DEC. 16, 2001-Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) hotel/restaurant and culinary arts students used their culinary talents to raise more than $300 for the Children's Advocacy Center in Plano. The students recently held a bake sale at the college's Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy., in Plano.

Baking on their own time, the students donated more than 200 homemade holiday wrapped desserts. Culinary confections ranged from chocolate chip cookies to freshly baked pecan pies.

"I hope to make this a yearly tradition because it was such a success. The students were applying their talents to a good use," said Karen Musa, CCCCD hotel/restaurant and culinary arts coordinator.
