CCCCD Hosts 2002 Economic Summit

MARCH 12, 2002-Join community leaders and economic experts in a discussion of topics affecting Collin County businesses today at the 2002 Collin County Economic Summit. The half-day summit, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will be held on Thursday, May 23, at Collin County Community College District's Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. Registration is $40. The registration deadline is May 15. Call (972) 758-3893 to register.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Robert McTeer, Jr., president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; and Dr. M. Ray Perryman, publisher of the The Perryman Report and founder of The Perryman Group Conference Center.

A biennial event, the Collin County Economic Summit offers presentations and breakout sessions led by some of North Texas' most reputable economic experts. The 2002 theme, "Forging New Strategies" illustrates a commitment from presenters to share information that can help organizations build successful business strategies. Breakout sessions will address the following topics: Accessing Business Capital; Education Reform; International Trade; Shifting Business Models in a Changing World; Transportation and Mobility Partnerships; and Workforce Training Needs and Resources.

The 2002 Economic Summit is co-hosted by Collin County Community College District; Collin County; Inside Collin County Business; and the Allen, Frisco, McKinney and Plano Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Corporations.
