CCCCD Offers Online Tutoring

MARCH 13, 2002-Collin County Community College District now offers a free online tutoring service for distance education students. SMARTHINKING.com allows students access to qualified "e-structors" and study resources 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online tutors are experienced, screened and trained to provide consistent high-quality support.

Benefits of using SMARTHINKING.com include: connectivity with live help; 24 hour response to student questions from qualified e-structors; and the ability to pre-schedule time with an e-structor. Courses currently included in this service are accounting, English, economics, math and Spanish.

CCCCD distance education students wishing to participate in this free tutoring service should contact the tutoring services office at the Spring Creek Campus at 972-881-5128. Each student will be able to communicate with a tutor for a maximum of two hours per week.

SMARTHINKING.com is funded by a grant from the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund (TIF) Board. SMARTHINKING.com currently serves more than 200 clients, including the University of Texas at Austin, Houston Community College and Austin Community College.
