Sail Into Summer With Brown Bag Lunches

MAY 29, 2002 - Collin County Community College District sponsored Seniors Active In Learning (SAIL) Brown Bag Lunch series offers summer fun. Bring your lunch and a beverage to the conference center, Room F108 at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. The programs begin at 11:30 a.m. and are free and open to the public.

The first brown bag will be Thursday, June 6, featuring the toe-tapping Dixieland music from The Survivors. Next up is "A Conversation with Generation 'Y'," Thursday, June 20. Come and listen to our panel of "Gen Y-ers" and hear what issues are important to them today.

Tap dancing is on order, Thursday, July 11. Class Act Tap Dancers will perform in the John Anthony Theatre after lunch. SAIL wraps up July with R. ChiChi Hoquee, Thursday, July 25. Hoquee is a Spanish teacher who will make the traditions of Spanish culture come alive. Learn to do a little Salsa and Merengue before the pros entertain the crowd!

Meet the Dallas Morning News' film critic, Jane Sumner, Thursday, Aug. 8. Critiquing movies since 1983, she also does film criticism and interviews for The Movies section and book and audiobook reviews for the Sunday Arts section. Learn how to get fit before the holidays are upon us Thursday, Aug. 22 when CCCCD professor of health and physical education and coordinator of the wellness program, Dr. Linda Adams discusses building muscle mass, strengthening bones and loosening ligaments.
