CCCCD Dean Named To Certification Council

MAY 30, 2002 - Ann Beheler, executive director/dean of the engineering technology division at Collin County Community College District (CCCCD), has been appointed to the CIW Certification Council of the National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET). Beheler's place on the board will ensure that CCCCD has a voice in the development of professional-level IT training, such as the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW) courses now being offered through the college.

The CIW Certification Council on which Beheler sits has three stated aims: to be the organization responsible for the goals and architecture of the CIW certifications, to create a governance structure that actively involves all CIW stakeholders, and to create and encourage the adoption of programs that educate employers about job-role certifications.

"I am very happy to have this opportunity," said Beheler. "My goal is to put CCCCD on the map as a leader in technology education, and my appointment to the CIW Certification Council can only help us towards that end. As a member of the council, I will be able to help shape the development of future CIW courseware. This can only benefit our students and our partners in industry."

ProsoftTraining and the NWCET recently designated the Collin County Community College District as an international CIW Faculty Institute site. The CIW Faculty Institute is part of a North American network of 15 locations that will train secondary and post-secondary educators to become CIW Certified Instructors, training teachers how to teach technology.
