CCCCD Now Offers New Payment Method

AUGUST 15 , 2002 - The check is no longer in the mail. Collin County Community College District has become one of only two colleges in the state to implement an additional payment option for students enrolling in fall courses. TouchNet webCheck connects the college to the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network to process students' web check payments.

Similar to paying by credit card, an e-check creates a one-time, electronic payment from a student or parent's checking account directly into the college's bank account. Unlike paying with a credit card, there are no processing fees, saving the student money and the college time.

The TouchNet system allows the college to centralize payment for registration, admissions, alumni and other campus applications.

"Fall registration now offers this payment method as a new feature used to serve students better as we move toward a seamless registration process," said Betty Wolfe, CCCCD bursar.

CCCCD serves more than 34,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines. In addition, the CCCCD is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
