CCCCD Observes National Depression Screening Day

OCTOBER 04, 2002 - Collin County Community College District s Counseling Services provides mental health services year round, but depression screening will be the focus on October 10 - National Depression Screening Day. Screening will be available from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the conference center (room F108B) on the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. This service is free of charge and open to the community.

Staff will be on hand at each campus throughout the week of Oct. 7 - 11 to distribute packets that include the screening instrument, information on how to obtain an interpretation, as well as other resources.

Counseling Services also offers a screening test on the web. Individuals can take advantage of the confidential, free online screening for depression and issues with alcohol or eating. The screening web site is at www.ccccd.edu/studentservices/students.html .
