Milford Named To Education Task Force

OCTOBER 8, 2002 - Mary Milford, professor of real estate, has been invited to serve as a member of the Education Task Force for the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). TREC is responsible for administering the mandatory continuing education requirements of real-estate licensees statewide. Milford was appointed to the taskforce by Mike Brody, chairman of the Texas Real Estate Commission, at a meeting in September.

The task force consists of six total members: Louise Hull from TREC; Charles Kramer, attorney, of Republic Title; Lance Lacy, chairman-elect of the Texas Association of Realtors; Gary Maler, associate director of the Real Estate Center; Dr. Brad York, statewide director of the Leonard-Hawes Real Estate School; and Charles Marina of First American Realty. Mary Milford is the only member selected from a college or university.

The Education Task Force is specifically charged with reviewing and recommending course content and delivery to all salespersons and brokers in the state.

Milford said of her appointment:

"I feel that it is a direct reflection of the excellence and exemplary nature of the CCCCD real estate program. Texas has always been a leader in real-estate education to the benefit of the consumer, and Mr. Brodie wants this taskforce to ensure the continuation of that leadership."
