CCCCD Student Logo Chosen To Represent CCCFV

October 22, 2002 - The artwork of Janice Kummer, a graphic design student at CCCCD, was adopted as the official logo for the Collin County Council on Family Violence. She received a certificate and a scholarship award for her efforts, which began last spring in an advanced graphic design technology class.

Kummer was a student in last spring's "Object-Oriented Computer Graphics" (GRPH 1359) class at Spring Creek Campus, part of the Applied Graphic Design Technology (AGDT) program in the division of Fine Arts. The goal of the class is to give students real-world experiences in designing projects for actual companies or institutions outside of the classroom, and to help them build portfolios of work that they can carry with them into interviews.

Local community leaders, members of the Council on Family Violence and members of the Junior League of Plano judged the contest. Other finalists in the logo design contest for the Collin County Council on family violence include CCCCD students Kyong Fiorini of Allen, Justin King of Dallas, Troy Milstead of Joshua, and Wilma Thomas of Plano.

The Collin County Council on Family Violence is an initiative of the Junior League of Plano. The purpose of the Council is to coordinate local, government, and legal agencies in a community-based approach to the prevention of family violence (ccc-fv.org).
