CCCCD Celebrates The Holiday With Gingerbread House Contest

December 18, 2002 - Collin County Community College District's students got in the holiday spirit early by holding a gingerbread house contest. CCCCD and juniors and seniors from any Collin County high school were eligible to enter a confectionary house into the CCCCD Gingerbread House contest. In the college category, first place honors went to Gesina Cuvi, second place went to Lauretta Shokler and third place went to Gina Hubbard. The pre-college winners included Jessica Hollien (Community H.S.) for first place, Ashley Heggy (Prosper H.S.) in second and Rachael Fullerton (Plano East H.S.) in third.

In the college category, the first place winner received a $100 scholarship to CCCCD, a monogrammed chef coat, culinary book and a knife from The House of Knives; the second place winner received a $75 scholarship to CCCCD, a monogrammed chef coat, culinary book, and a knife from The House of Knives; and the third place winner received a $50 scholarship to CCCCD, and a knife block from ACE Restaurant Supply. After the contest, all of the houses were sold, raising $230 for the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County.
