CCCCD Continuing Education Offers Workplace And Environment Safety Classes

Jan. 8, 2003 - This spring, Collin County Community College District is offering a number of environmental and occupational safety classes through its continuing education division. Previously these classes have only been available to students as credit offerings. The first core course in this series of classes, "Stormwater Pollution Prevention," begins Jan. 27 at CCCCD's Central Park Campus in McKinney.

The classes cover Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) general industry standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor. Other OSHA/Environmental safety classes scheduled for this semester include: "Regulations for Construction Industry," "Regulations for General Industry" and "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training and Related Topics." These classes mirror those offered by OSHA at its national training site in Illinois (www.osha.gov).
