CCCCD Offers Microsoft Classes

Jan. 9, 2003 - This spring, Collin County Community College District is offering computer networking technology courses that prepare students for the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential. This industry recognized credential offers professionals the skills to successfully implement, manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows–based operating environments, including the Windows .NET Server. The first core course in this series of classes, "Fundamentals of Networking," begins Jan. 16 at two locations, CCCCD's Central Park and Spring Creek Campuses.

Another MCSA certification class scheduled this semester is "Installing and Administering Windows 2000." This course is offered on the Preston Ridge Campus.

Last year, CCCCD partnered with Microsoft to begin offering advanced technology training through the Microsoft IT Academy Program. At that time, CCCCD was one of 18 institutions of higher education in the nation offering this specialized training. The program, totaling some thirty classes, prepares individuals to take exams in a number of Microsoft certification areas: MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA and MCAD.
