CCCCD President Named To Medical Center Of Plano Board

Feb. 12, 2003 - Collin County Community College District president Cary A. Israel was recently named to the board of the Medical Center of Plano.

"The Medical Center of Plano has been a leading supporter of CCCCD for more than 12 years, so it is a pleasure to reciprocate as a member of their board of directors," said Israel. "The hospital has done a fine job keeping a strong connection to the community during a time of tremendous growth . We are fortunate to have such quality medical and health care professionals serving Plano."

The Medical Center of Plano has had a long and productive partnership with CCCCD and the CCCCD Foundation, Inc. For more than 12 years, the hospital has supported the college through a variety of initiatives. The hospital has one of the oldest established scholarship endowments. Since 1990, the Medical Center of Plano Scholarship Endowment has provided more than $10,000 in scholarship awards to nursing students at CCCCD.

"Cary is a respected and involved community leader whose past experiences as a hospital board member will greatly benefit our board," said Harvey Fishero, President and CEO of Medical Center of Plano. "Cary's vision and responsiveness have been key to our partnership with CCCC and the focus on increasing careers in healthcare, especially nursing."

The Medical Center of Plano was also instrumental in the development of the James and Pat Aston Center for Health Studies at the college's Central Park campus and was the major underwriting sponsor for the Foundation's annual "Sky's the Limit" Women's Symposium.
