CCCCD Department Of History Sponsors Cotton And Rural History Symposium

March 21, 2003 - Collin County Community College District's Department of History in the Social Sciences Division is co-sponsoring the 7th Annual Cotton and Rural History Symposium to be held from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 29, at the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum in Greenville. The event is also sponsored by Texas A&M - Commerce's Archives and Oral History Program. The luncheon speaker will be Walter Buenger, professor and head of the department of History at Texas A&M Commerce. Registration is $8 (includes lunch).

Founded in 1997, the Cotton and Rural History Symposium hosts presenters working in the fields of social, agricultural and rural history, and folklore and the oral narrative. Previous presenters include former presidents of the Texas State Historical Association and a number of award-winning academic historians and writers.
