"Revealing the Subconscious," works by Morris Yanger winner of best of show, Viewpoints, 2002

Morris Yanger, best of show winner in THE ARTS gallery's annual juried Texas community college student show, will display his works in 3D. Morris works in welded steel, painting some pieces and leaving others with the original patina of the metal. The mostly non-objective works include formal geometric shapes as well as organic and even informal pieces that include "graffiti." 14th Annual Texas Conservatory for Young Artists
June 15 - 22
John Anthony Theatre Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy. in Plano
Some of the nation's most gifted young pianists will participate in piano recitals and masterclasses. An international roster of concert pianists and teachers will lead this weeklong event. Recitals will be given by Gilles Vonsattel, Paul Lewis and Leon Fleisher. Teachers' classes will be lead by Marc, Durand, Harold Heiberg and Yoheved Kaplinsky. Masterclasses will be lead by Marc Durand, Joan Havill, Leon Fleisher and Yoheved Kaplinsky. Hector Guzman, director of the Plano Symphony Orchestra will conduct the TCYA Young Artists in open masterclasses and two free concerts. All events are open to the public. Sunday and evening recital tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Noon recitals are $5. The Plano Symphony Orchestra Concerto Evening at 7 p.m. on June 18, and the Young Artists Recital at 3 p.m. on June 22 are free. Event directors are Sam Wong and David Grice. William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," is an enduring classic and timely political tragedy. Fearing the growing ambition of its political leader, Julius Caesar, the patricians conspire against and assassinate him. All tickets are $5. Proceeds benefit the Theatre Partners Fund, which provides scholarships to theatre majors. Students of CCCCD professor Byrd Williams present their works in an exhibit that takes a look at the impact of scale, with pieces from one-inch to pieces 10-feet, nothing in between. Two classes are participating, some working in traditional color photography methods and others in color digital photography. The content will mix art history with the technical. Summer Jazz Dance Camp (ages 14 to adult)

Learn hip-hop and lyrical jazz dance. Registration is $65 before June 20 and $75 thereafter. Registration deadline is June 27. 9th Annual Texas All Star Jazz Camp (ages 13 to adult)
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

CCCCD Spring Creek Campus Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy. in Plano
Participants should have one year of musical experience on their instrument, but no jazz experience required. Students will participate in daily classes and rehearsals, improvisation, masterclasses, band rehearsals and sectionals. The All Star Jazz Camp Faculty Band will perform each evening at 8 p.m. Camp fee is $225 for tuition only or $265 for tuition and lunch. Collin County Dance Repertory Auditions

CCCCD's resident performing dance company will hold auditions for the 2003-2004 season You must be enrolled for the 2003-2004 academic year to audition. Collin County Dance Repertory is a vibrant company that performs innovative contemporary modern dance. The company tours throughout the D/FW area performing in local concerts and festivals. The dance company attends and performs at the American College Dance Festival annually and received the Festival's Gala Award in 1998, 2000 and 2001.
