SAIL The Summer For Free And Enrich Your Life

May 30, 2003 - CCCCD sponsored Seniors Active In Learning (SAIL) brings a variety of free learning activities to the community for the summer. All classes will meet at the Courtyard Center for Professional and Economic Development, 4800 Preston Park Blvd. in Plano.

The following activities will be offered:

Book Discussion Group (room A216) Mondays, June 9 and 23; July 28 1 - 2:30 p.m.

The first book will be "Murder Runs in the Family" by Anne George. Be ready to discuss the book on the first class session. Subsequent books will be chosen at that time.

Tuesday Afternoon at the Movies (room A216 on June 10) Tuesdays, June 10, 17 and 24; July 8, 15 and 22 1 p.m.

The first movie will be "Catch Me If You Can" with Leonardo DeCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken and Amy Adams. Each week, moviegoer's will choose the movie for the following week and will attend the "dollar movie" at Park and Coit.

Computer Tutors (computer lab) Wednesdays, June 11, 18 and 25; July 9, 16 and 23 1 - 3 p.m.

Do you want to learn how to use a computer? Call the SAIL office to schedule a tutoring session on one of these dates.

Brown Bag Lunch Series (Spring Creek Campus, F108) Thursdays, June 12 and 26; July 24 and Aug. 28 11:30 a.m.

Bring a sack lunch and a friend to enjoy musical entertainment and informative speakers. Spring Creek is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

Celestin's Café (room A232) Thursdays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26; July 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31; Aug. 7, 14, 21 and 28 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Led by Les Lorenzo, this class is structured like Athens 2500 years ago when Socrates, Sophists and the general populace met to discuss events of the day on every topic under the sun. Each session will begin by asking what subject you want to raise for discussion. If you plan to attend or have questions email Les at celestinl@worldnet.att.net .
