Forum Explores Digital Storytelling

June 6, 2003 - CCCCD presents "Industry Giants," a computer graphics forum that will run from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, in CCCCD's John Anthony Theater, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, in Plano. Industry experts will make morning presentations, followed by a panel discussion in the afternoon. A computer graphics career planning session will take place at the end of the day. This entire event is free and open to the public.

"Industry Giants - Visual Storytelling" is a CG- and animation-industry forum. Veteran industry speakers include Alan Chan from Sony Imageworks (Titanic, Harry Potter), John Davis from DNA Productions, Inc. (Jimmy Neutron), Kevin Johnson from Sony Imageworks (Academy Award Winner for "The ChubbChubbs"), Dale Carman from Reel FX Creative Studios (Spy Kids II, G.I.Joe), Jean-Eric Hénault from, and 3-D Modeling Supervisor Ramahan Faulk from Reel FX. The speakers will present their perspectives on visual storytelling in today's high-tech medium.

The forum is hosted by Applied Graphic Design Technology (AGDT), a graphic design and new media discipline within the Fine Arts division at CCCCD. AGDT Specializations include graphic design, 3-D animation, digital video, multimedia, Internet web design and gaming animation.

Other sponsors include A Bunch Of Short Guys, a Dallas-based animation guild established to fostering local artists and storytellers; and the Dallas Alias|Wavefront Global Users Association, connoisseurs of the popular 3-D modeling software.
