CCCCD Hosts Auteur Film Series

September 26, 2003 - Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) presents their annual Auteur Film Series for 2003-2004. The first screening will be Alfred Hitchcock's "Spellbound," at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6 in room C103 on the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. The film is free and open to the public.

A psychological thriller starring Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman, "Spellbound's" main character experiences a "manhunt of the mind" as well as in the external world. Salvador Dali designed the nightmare sequences for this movie. Following the film, there will be a brief panel discussion featuring Shannon Kearns, professor of theatre; Chris Grooms, professor of English; and Carolyn Perry, professor of Humanities.

Auteurs are filmmakers whose creative vision has a definitive impact on their work. All of the films in this year's series will be Hitchcock classics including "Psycho," "The 39 Steps," and "Rear Window."
