CCCCD Staff Member Receives National Award For Service

September 26, 2003 - Liz Grimes, Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) division secretary, received the Glenn Schmitz Award for Outstanding Service to the Board of the National Council for Staff, Program and Organizational Development (NCSPOD). The NCSPOD is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges and primarily serves a membership composed of the staff development officers at community colleges.

The Glenn Schmitz Award recognizes contributions of time and talent toward the support of NCSPOD and NCSPOD Board in accomplishing its goals. Grimes has been instrumental in providing technical and creative talent in support of the NCSPOD website.

"Liz is very talented and, in her willingness to share those talents, saw an opportunity to apply those skills to help NCSPOD serve its membership. NCSPOD's Board is composed of volunteers and Liz was able to work efficiently with many people," said Tom Rodgers, provost of the Spring Creek Campus. "I am very happy for Liz. This award is recognition of her and the CCCCD's efforts on behalf of community college students, faculty and staff across the U.S. and Canada."

Collin County Community College District serves close to 40,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines. In addition, the CCCCD is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development in North Central Texas.
