Tech Prep Receives Award

October 3, 2003 - The Global EDGE Tech Prep Consortium at Collin County Community College District received the highest award given by the National Association for Tech-Prep Leadership (NATPL) for promoting its program to students, parents and the community.

Kay Orrell is project manager for the business resource consortium, part of the members' services committee of NATPL. She runs her office from Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, and was one of the judges at this year's contest.

"CCCCD showed us something a little unusual, compared with what we had seen," said Orrell. "They sent us an e-card. That was one of the things that caught our eye. They did a great job of providing information and of incorporating technology into their message and maximizing its use."

The award will be presented in early October at the NATPL convention in Nashville, Tennessee.
