CCCCD Hosts Learning Communities Film Series

Nov. 14, 2003 - Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) Preston Ridge students and faculty host the final movie in the 2003 Learning Communities Film Series. This screening will be of John Sayles' film "Lone Star," at 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 19 in Founder's Hall room 249 on the Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Boulevard in Frisco. The film is free and open to the public.

The border town of Frontera is the scene of controversy as a crime from the past is uncovered. Difficult issues are involved in this film including racism, illegal immigration, corruption of government and law enforcement, racial identity, multicultural education and the endurance of love.
