CCCCD Public Relations Department Wins Six Medallion Awards

November 14, 2003 - Collin County Community College District won six public relations awards at the Medallion Awards hosted by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 4. The college took three gold Medallions, two silvers and one bronze in writing and graphic design categories.

According to college president Cary A. Israel, "CCCCD competed against colleges in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado, Oklahoma and Arkansas, and brought home six awards. I am very proud of the work they produce and of their significant wins at the NCMPR regional competition."

A Gold Medallion of Excellence was awarded in the category of "General News Story" for a story that appeared in Plano Profile titled "Class takes walk through 100 million years." A Gold Medallion of Excellence was also awarded in the category of "Brochures" for the CCCCD Foundation, Inc.'s brochure titled "Creating Legacies." An additional Gold Medallion of Excellence was awarded for the category of "College Catalog" for CCCCD's 2003/2004 catalog with the theme of "Smart Move."

Collin County Community College District serves close to 40,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines. In addition, the CCCCD is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
