CCCCD Continuing Education Wins Award From Learning Resources Network

December 15, 2003 - Collin County Community College District's (CCCCD) Continuing Education program received the Best Management Practice award at the Annual International Learning Resources Network (LERN) Conference.

The award recognized CE's innovative use of Adobe Acrobat to collaboratively edit their class schedule. The practice resulted in shortening the turnaround time for proofing the schedule, production of an audit trail capturing changes made during schedule development and increased accuracy.

"It is quite an honor for CCCCD to win an award from such a well-regarded international association as LERN. LERN will also be publishing our management practice in an issue of LERN magazine," said Janet Sheppard, director of Continuing Education.

LERN is an international association of lifelong learning programming, offering information and resources to member organizations. The membership is comprised of more than 4,000 community colleges, universities, professional associations and other continuing education entities in 16 countries.

CCCCD serves close to 40,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines. In addition, CCCCD is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
