CCCCD Arts Gallery Hosts "Ecclesia Temporalis-E"

January 16, 2004 - Collin County Community College District's THE ARTS gallery presents "Ecclesia Temporalis-e," Tuesday, Jan. 20 - Friday, Feb. 6 at the Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

This exhibit features works of painter Richard LeBlanc. His early work attempted to capture modern interpretations of mythology, symbolism and ritual and their differences and similarities between cultures. He collected items that expressed the cultures of the time and eventually began attaching these items to his paintings in an attempt to find a relationship between the objects of man and the lost stories of the deities.

As time has passed, he has created a new path for his work, finding the relationships of man to nature and the universe. This latest exhibit explores that relationship with his paintings playing a dual role of expressing art as sacramental and also exploring the context of our temporary lives on Earth.

Gallery hours are Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. For more information, call THE ARTS gallery at 972.881.5873 or visit www.ccccd.edu/THEARTSgallery.
