Small Business Development Center Receives Recognition For Its Mentor-Entrepreneur Program

March 4, 2004 - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC), an affiliate of Collin County Community College District, received recognition for its seven-year commitment to the North Texas Commission (NTC) and Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Business Development Council's (D/FW MBDC) Mentor-Entrepreneur Program.

"The SBDC is proud to be recognized by the North Texas Commission for our participation in the Mentor-Entrepreneur Program. It is a great opportunity to help existing small business owners expand their business at no expense to them," said Mark Langford, director of the SBDC.

The Mentor-Entrepreneur Program has become a recognized resource for small emerging businesses in the Metroplex. Started by NTC and D/FW MBDC, the program offers small companies competitive business advice to help them achieve success in an ever-changing business community. The expertise gained in the Mentor-Entrepreneur Program helps entrepreneurs survive their first years and thrive in a highly competitive business environment. The program is currently led by Cheryl Stevens, vice president of workforce and supplier of diversity at TXU.
