CCCCD Sponsors National Mentoring Teleconference

April 2, 2004 - Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) will be sponsoring a nationwide teleconference on new teacher induction and mentoring through its "Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology" (PT3) grant. The teleconference, "Making Mentoring Accessible: Innovation and Technology in Teacher Induction," will air from 1:30 - 3 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, April 20. PT3 is an initiative of the U.S. Department of Education. This free teleconference is open to the public.

Guest panelists will include Shelby Bivins, M.Ed., mentor coordinator in the Center for Teaching, Learning and Professional Development at CCCCD; Dave Herz, outreach coordinator, New Teacher Center in Santa Cruz, CA; Sharon Kortman, Ed.D., director, Beginning Educator Support Team at Arizona State University; and Christopher Whitbeck, Ed.D., K-8 science coordinator at Brookline Massachusetts Public Schools.
