CCCCD Seeks Applicants for Fall 2004 Scholarships

PISD high school and CCCCD students sought for SMART scholarships

August 12, 2004 – Need money for college? If you are a high school or Collin County Community College District student majoring in engineering, math, science or computer science, then you may be eligible for a SMART scholarship while you attend CCCCD.

Science, Math, Advanced Research and Technology (SMART) scholarships are available now for the fall 2004 college semester beginning Aug. 30. To apply, or for more information, contact Wayne Jones at (972) 377-1715 or wjones@ccccd.edu .

Eligibility

High school students must meet the following eligibility requirements. Be a Plano Independent School District junior or senior:

- concurrently enrolled in the early admissions program at CCCCD;

- declaring a major in an engineering or pre-engineering degree program in mathematics, science or computer science that is eligible to transfer from CCCCD to UTD;

- and intending to pursue an engineering or engineering-related career.

CCCCD students must meet the following eligibility requirements. Be a CCCCD freshman:

- majoring in mathematics, science, computer science, engineering or pre-engineering fields of study;

- concurrently admitted to the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD);

- and intending to pursue an engineering or engineering-related career.

SMART scholarships are made possible by a Texas Instruments endowment and are administered by the CCCCD Foundation, Inc.
