CCCCD Hosts November Transfer Fair


Oct. 15, 2004 –Collin County Community College District will host its third annual Vocal Jazz Festival from 1-5 p.m., concluding with an Express Café vocal jazz concert from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 in room AA135 in the conference center at the college’s Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, in Plano.

Free and open to the public, the festival features a vocal jazz workshop designed for high school and college students. The workshop, based on a learning (versus performing) environment, will include solo and ensemble clinics. Sue Cruse, CCCCD jazz voice associate professor, will teach the solo voice clinic. Kathy Morgan, CCCCD professor of choral music, will teach the ensemble clinic, which includes learning a jazz chart. Following the workshops, CCCCD Expressions and combo will perform an informal concert in a café-style environment as a preview for their upcoming fall concert which will be held Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre at the College’s Spring Creek Campus.
