CCCCD Photography Department Holds Film Series


Oct. 22, 2004 –The Collin County Community College District Photography Department will offer an artist film series 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4 and Thursday, Nov. 18. in room C103 at the college’s Spring Creek Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, in Plano.

Free and open to the public, the films series was designed to address technology via digital imaging and the recent French-post structuralism paradigm movement taking place around the world. The series will feature the works of Algerian-born French philosopher Jacques Derrida who taught philosophy at the Sorbonne and is known as the father of deconstruction and Yale graduate Matthew Barney, a sculptor turned photographer and filmmaker.

“Cristo in Paris” will be shown on Nov. 4 and “Cremaster” by Matthew Barney and “Derrida” by Jacques Derrida will be shown Nov. 18.
