CCCCD Receives $157638 Workforce Grant


December 8, 2004 - Collin County Community College District (CCCCD) has received a $157,638 grant from the North Central Texas Workforce (NCTW) development board to train 165 employees of three local companies: Telecom Electric Supply Company and Geo-Marine, Inc., both of Plano, and Special Products & Manufacturing, Inc. of Rockwall.

This seven-month training program begins in January 2005 and provides skills in lean manufacturing, business process engineering, cycle-time reduction, management and communications to the companies' employees.

The NCTW Development Board serves 14 counties, including Collin. In partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission, the board delivers workforce solutions to more than seven percent of the population of the state of Texas and administers more than $40 million in employment and training funds.

Collin College serves more than 46,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
