CCCCD Employee Receives Service Award


December 9, 2004 - Cheri Jack, associate dean of students at Collin County Community College District (CCCCD), received the Regional Outstanding Service Award for her involvement with the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). The award was given for her development of a regional handbook, which will be used as a national model for the Association, for her involvement on the regional leadership team, for her service to the annual regional conference, and, as the former scholarship auction chair, for raising more than $2,000 to provide annual leadership scholarships to students.

Cheri Jack has been an employee of CCCCD for 16 years. Jack received a bachelor's degree in psychology and communication from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and master's degree in Counselor Education from The University of Wisconsin - Madison. She currently resides in McKinney.

ACUI, with nearly 800 colleges and universities worldwide, was formed in 1914 to support college union and student life/activities professionals through education, advocacy and service. Region 12, including CCCCD, consists of two-year and four-year colleges at public and private institutions in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Collin College serves more than 46,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs. The only public college in the county, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development.
