Maymester/Summer Credit Registration Begins in Late April


April 18, 2005 - Collin County Community College (Collin) students may soon register for Maymester and summer credit classes by telephone and on the Internet. For the first time ever, Collin is offering priority registration for students who have accumulated the most credit hours. 

Collin will accept student registration for Maymester and summer credit classes based on the following schedule:

April 26                        50 hours and above

April 27                        30-49 hours

April 28                        10-29 hours

April 29                        1-9 hours

April 30-May 15            all students

Students may register via the Internet at, or by phone at 469.452.2222 in Collin County or 469.757.2222 in Rockwall County.

Because the number of earned hours students have accumulated will be used to determine when they can register, the registrar’s office recommends that students review this information on their unofficial transcripts at Students whose first semester at Collin is Spring 2005 can register based on the number of hours in which they are currently enrolled.

Maymester is a highly concentrated curriculum in which students may complete a one-semester credit course in just two weeks, May 16 - May 31, attending classes four hours per day, five days per week. Many core curriculum classes are offered, including art, computer science, English and speech.

Summer I and II semesters are each five weeks long running back-to-back from June 6 - July 7 and July 11 - Aug. 11 respectively. Classes during these two semesters run two hours per day, four days per week. Summer III is a ten- week semester, running June 6 - August 11 and overlapping Summer I and II semesters. Classes during Summer III usually meet twice a week for two hours, unless otherwise noted in the credit schedule.

Telephone and website registration will be available from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day from April 26 - July 10 for Maymester, Summer I, II and III registrations, excluding per-semester deadlines and system blackout dates. Each semester has its own registration deadline.

Online or on the phone, students may pay with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard or Discover). Online registrants may also pay with a personal check through Collin's Webcheck system.
