COLLIN FOREIGN LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT HOSTS FIRST OPEN HOUSE

April 22, 2005 – As North Texas takes on a more international flavor, the need for bilingual—and even trilingual—residents is growing. Those interested in adding a new language to their repertoire should attend a special open house, hosted by the Collin County Community College District (Collin) foreign language department. The open house will be held on Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Spring Creek Campus atrium, 2800 Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

The open house will include demonstrations of students’ language skills, interactive exhibits, as well as interactive foreign language games for everyone to enjoy. Students from the Collin guitar ensemble will be performing, playing classical tunes for the listening pleasure of all.

There, guests can meet Collin professors who can teach anyone to speak Spanish, French or German. They can also meet representatives from McGraw-Hill, who will have displays of high school- and college-level textbooks and foreign language materials for review.

The open house is free and refreshments will be served. There will also be door prizes.
